Hey, I’m Sam

I'm a ceramic artist, painter, jack of all trades, and lifelong creative based in Jacksonville, Florida.

I've been making art for as long as I can remember. As life has evolved and I've taken on different roles both personally and professionally, my creativity has remained the constant. It's the thing that makes the most sense to me, the thing that comes most naturally, and the thing I always find myself returning to.

I have spent the last eight years teaching high-school art, helping students discover their own creative voices while continuing to grow as an artist myself. While I've explored just about every medium over the years—from painting and murals to commissioned artwork and design—clay has always had a special hold on me.

Born and raised in South Florida, I've called Jacksonville home since I was eighteen. The coast has shaped so much of who I am and how I create. I grew up spending my days by the ocean, collecting shells, fishing, surfing, and finding inspiration from the natural world. Today, much of my work draws inspiration from Florida's coastlines: incorporating organic textures, weathered surfaces, and the warm palette of sandy beaches, ocean blues, and golden hour skies. I love forming texture into my pieces, and often use found objects like shells to create impressions that tell a story and feel like home.

One of the things I love most about handmade work is that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. While I may create a collection of similar forms, every piece develops its own personality in the making process. Those subtle differences are what make handmade art so special—each piece is truly one of a kind.

This site is a place to share my latest work, create new ceramic collections, offer local shopping opportunities, and invite you to peek behind the scenes through my “Sketchbook”—a space where I'll share new projects, creative discoveries, local events, and whatever else I'm currently making, learning, or dreaming up.

I'm so glad you're here.
